SURROUNDING COMMUNITY
The students of Pinellas Park High School are residents of an essentially suburban community that stretches throughout Pinellas County. The majority of Pinellas Park High’s students live in the heart of Pinellas County. A number of the students live throughout the county and are attracted to our school by the Criminal Justice Magnet and First Responders programs. The immediate neighborhood in which Pinellas Park High is located is primarily a commercial neighborhood represented by light manufacturing and retail businesses. The expanded immediate neighborhoods of the school include parts of the City of Pinellas Park, the City of Largo and numerous unincorporated areas of Pinellas County, such as the High Point area.
The Pinellas Park High School community is highly supportive of the school’s curriculum, extracurricular activities, and team sports programs. The school has a very well organized Parent Teacher Student Association (P.T.S.A.). Dues are a mere $5.00 and support the PTSA projects. The schedule of meetings is listed below.
PARTNERSHIPS WITH THE COMMUNITY
Pinellas Park High School has numerous partnerships with community businesses that function in many ways. We have partnerships that provide materials, services, expertise, and other opportunities in “real-world” training. Our partnerships include:
Honeywell, Wal-Mart, City of Pinellas Park, Raytheon, Pet Supply Plus, Pinellas Park Police Department, Pinellas Park Fire Department, U.S. Coast Guard and Raymond James
--all of the above companies allow for their employees to come on company time to mentor and tutor our students.
